My name is Laura Rose and I’m an instructional designer, former history instructor, and Colorado native.
I’m passionate about continued learning and believe that everyone can benefit from expanding their knowledge. Joy in helping people grow has become a part of my identity.
Learning requires stretching out of our comfort zones and turning our failures into stepping stones. It is essential for our personal growth and mental well-being. Everyone can – and should! – learn, but so many of us forget that once formal education ends.
Learning and growth go hand-in-hand; living without learning will stunt a person. I work to help people connect with knowledge, incorporate it into their daily lives, and blossom and grow.
With proper scoping and design, eLearning can be an effective tool for lasting knowledge and behavioral change. Audience analysis and learner assessment are critical first steps – online courses should feel relevant and useful to the people taking them. I also believe that interactivity and learner engagement are special strengths of eLearning courses, and can be leveraged to build interest and retention for material that learners might otherwise consider “click-through-and-get-it-over-with-quick” training.
